Reference information from e-Pesticide Manual 2.0
CYHALOFOP-BUTYL synthesis inhibitor, by inhibition of acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase). Selectivity between grasses and broad-leaves is attributed to the form(s) of ACCase present and the compartmentalisation of these forms within plant cells. Uses for post-emergence control of grass weeds in rice.
· Systemic post-emergence herbicide for the control of grassy weeds in direct seeded rice.
· It has wide window of application, low potential for drift issues to neighboring broadleaf crops.
· It is not persistent in the environment
· It is very safe to rice crop owing to selectivity offered by differential metabolism of the cyhalofop-butyl by rice and target weeds
